Fora.market
Markets for the hyper-niche, sensitive, valuable, or otherwise unusual
What it does
There are *thousands* of community created markets that exist in every corner of the internet: DIY’d marketplaces built into discord channels, whatsapp groups, subreddits and forums, each built to empower a community, because the existing marketplaces are failing them.^1
Fora gives community markets the tools they need to thrive - starting with search, filters, and notifications. Connect fora to any ad-hoc marketplace running in a discord server, and it will use google's gemini API to interpret the messages of the community and extract, configure, contextualize, and cross-post any message where a user is trying to sell something into an "echo market" on Fora. Once a listing is cross posted, Fora will use Gemini to interpret the corpus of listings, and derive the appropriate categories and filters for a user to sort, filter, and setup email notifications for anything they're looking for. In this way, Fora uses Gemini to construct an app from the ground up, in response to any given community.
Because of its modular design, Fora allows for community market aggregation: search for anything - a pair of sneakers, vintage posters, or esoteric music equipment across the *thousands* of community markets spread across the internet. Note this excludes any traditional marketplaces - no ebay, poshmark, depop, etc. Only forums, reddit, discord or chat rooms. This has *never* been possible, until now! Im connor and this is fora, thanks everyone.
