What it does

HealthMap AI is a web application that democratizes healthcare by providing real-time insights into probable diagnoses based on user-reported symptoms and geolocation. It integrates data from users, hospitals, and public health databases like GIDEON, using Google Firestore for efficient data storage and retrieval.

By analyzing symptom frequency and regional disease occurrences and using the Google Geocoding API, the app calculates disease probabilities, adjusting for local outbreaks. VertexAIEmbeddings refine these estimates through vector representations of symptoms and diseases.

The platform's dashboard, developed with React and Typescript on Google Firebase, allows healthcare institutions to monitor disease progression and suggest actions based on public health policies. For users, it offers probable diagnoses and advice on visiting nearby healthcare facilities, optimized by the facility’s specialty and capacity.

Google Firebase Cloud Functions ensure seamless operations, while Gemini 1.5 Pro handles natural language processing for Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG).
